Dedication. Experience. Purpose.

I am proud to announce that I am running for Judge in the Cleveland Heights Municipal Court. Judge A. Deane Buchanan has served our City well. With his retirement at the end of 2017, it is critical that the seat is filled by an individual that is dedicated, experienced, and acts with purpose, and I believe that I am that individual.

I was raised in Cleveland Heights. I have delivered the Sun Press, bagged groceries at Russo’s, and sold cars at Motorcars. This City has made me who I am today. The strong foundation built here in my youth, and the progressive and diverse people who make up this City, are why my wife and I have chosen to make it the home for ourselves and our two boys. That is why I would be dedicated to serving this community as a fair, honest, and trustworthy judge.

My professional career has also prepared me to be your judge. After graduating from the Case Western University School of Law, I opened my practice on Lee Road here in Cleveland Heights. Some of my earliest experiences in the courtroom were defending individuals, and in fact, I tried my first case, in the very court I now wish to serve as judge. Since then I have handled and tried cases in every municipal court in northeast Ohio and throughout our State. In addition to my years of practice as an attorney, I have also been serving as an Acting Judge. As an Acting Judge, I temporarily serve in the Cleveland Heights Municipal Court when the Judge is absent, hearing and deciding those same cases that I would hear and decide should you elect me as judge.

I want nothing more than to serve and give back to this great community. I have already served this City in several capacities. As a former member of the Recreation Advisory Board and the Civil Service Commission, I have served this community directly. In addition, I am a longtime member of the Cleveland Heights Democrats Club and as a former Executive Committee Member of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party. My past service has prepared me to be a thoughtful, careful, and just judge.

My civic service, my professional career, my education, my family, and my community have all provided me with the qualities necessary to be an excellent judge. I thank you for your consideration, and I hope in the upcoming months I can gain your support, and ultimately, your vote.
